👕 Pinball and Arcade Clothing
By Alexander Visotin
Once you get as involved in the pinball and arcade hobby as I am, you start accumulating pinball and arcade-related items other than the game cabinets themselves. The games themselves are cool, but when you love pinball and arcade stuff as much as me, you can't help but want to express your love of it to the public. If you do this by aggressively approaching people on the street and asking them if they want to talk about pinball, they get scared. So I've learned to do this via less offensive methods, like wearing pinball-related clothing! This is a passive way to advertise your special interest without the police becoming involved. Neat! This page is dedicated to the assortment of pinball and arcade clothing items I've accumulated over the years.
Cliffy's T-Shirt
One of my first items of pinball-specific clothing. I got this included in one of my orders from Cliffy many years ago. I've certainly worn it out by this point with most of the logo starting to peel off. A testament to how much I wore it!
Spooky Pinball T-Shirt
I won this shirt as Pinfest one year in a raffle. Fiona ended up wearing it more often than I did! It's been through the wars now, with most of the logo starting to wear off the front and back, holes, and even flecks of paint. A funky design from the early days of Spooky.
Custom Data East T-Shirt
I was going through my Data East era at this point in my life, having just finished my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Data East, 1991) restoration, and having acquired Maverick (Data East, 1994). So, what better way to advertise my new obsession than a shirt? Since there were no commercially available Data East shirts available, I made my own! The front side logo was the logo used by Data East in their video games. I love the horizon effect. "We've Got It All" was one of their taglines in the early 1990s. The rear side included a sketch from many Data East technical bulletins and documents at the time, featuring gremlins attacking a pinball machine. I found the best copy of the sketch I could, and did a little Photoshop work to clean it up. I added the Data East contact details and the "Parts & Service" text for authenticity. It looks legit! Plus, I was wearing it when I got interviewed by 10 News at Collectfest!
